On May 21, 2025, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro marked the seventh anniversary of the United States’ illegal seizure of CITGO, Venezuela’s strategic oil asset, with a powerful declaration: “We will never give it up.”

Speaking at the inauguration of the renovated Jesús Farías Industrial Hospital, Maduro condemned the far-right’s ongoing attempts to destabilize the nation and reiterated Venezuela’s unwavering commitment to reclaiming its rightful property amid imperialist pressures.

The seizure of CITGO by the US government seven years ago remains a glaring example of imperialist expropriation. Despite aggressive efforts by creditors and foreign corporations to auction off Venezuela’s crown jewel, Maduro emphasized that “billions of dollars belong to all Venezuelans” and denounced the far-right’s violent conspiracies aimed at igniting chaos. “They have tried to set the country on fire and plot, but they have failed,” he asserted, highlighting the active resistance led by Operation Tun-Tun against fascist forces.

In preparation for upcoming elections, Maduro announced the full activation of the Republic Plan, a grassroots strategy that mobilizes the Venezuelan National Armed Forces and popular power structures to safeguard democracy and national sovereignty.

This plan empowers Communal Circuits and Military Community Brigades to participate directly in decision-making and community recovery, fostering a creative and constructive offensive to overcome imperialist blockade and economic war.

Maduro recalled the success of the 1X3 Good Government initiative, which has resolved over 6.5 million community complaints, demonstrating the power of people-led governance. The “Together Everything is Possible” National Corporation now channels resources to Communal Circuits across all 24 states, reinforcing the organic 7T Plan approved as Venezuela’s roadmap for comprehensive social, political, and economic development. “We are winning the economic war every day,” the president affirmed.

In a rallying call to the Venezuelan people, Maduro urged all Communal Circuits to participate actively in the upcoming elections, promising that the ten circuits with the highest voter turnout will receive funding for special projects through the Together Everything is Possible Corporation.

This mobilization embodies the revolutionary spirit of popular sovereignty, affirming that Venezuela’s path forward lies in collective action, self-determination, and steadfast resistance to imperialist domination.
